SAVE Foundation

Corporate Partnerships

Partner with SAVE Foundation to turn your CSI and CSR investment into measurable, community-led impact. We work directly with companies to fund and support established education, community development and conservation projects across Southern Africa — with transparent reporting, meaningful employee engagement and no unnecessary middleman.

Most CSI consultancies sit between your company and the actual project — packaging, reporting, and taking a cut along the way. SAVE Foundation is different: when you partner with us, your funding goes directly to projects we run and staff ourselves across South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, and Tanzania — not through a third-party administrator.

SAVE Foundation is a registered NPO (088-104), Level 1 B-BBEE, operating continuously since 2006, currently supporting 30+ projects spanning community development, education, and conservation.

  • Direct funding, no middleman. Your CSI budget funds projects SAVE Foundation runs and staffs directly — not a packaged product resold by a consultancy.
  • 20 years of continuous operation. Established infrastructure, local staff, and community relationships already in place — not a new pilot funded from scratch.
  • Transparent, trackable impact. As a registered NPO, we report on where funding goes and what it achieves — annual impact report, quarterly update, site visits, social media.
  • Section 18A tax benefit. Donations qualify for tax-deductible certificates under Section 18A.
  • Level 1 B-BBEE. Partnering with SAVE Foundation contributes directly to your own B-BBEE scorecard, alongside your CSI spend.

CORPORATE PARTNERSHIP FAQ

Yes. SAVE Foundation can structure a corporate partnership around a defined community, education, youth-development or conservation need rather than offering a generic sponsorship package. The scope can include a specific project, measurable outputs, employee involvement, in-kind support or longer-term funding.

SAVE Foundation is an implementing nonprofit organisation, not a CSI consultancy. The organisation works directly with community and conservation programmes, so corporate support can be connected to on-the-ground needs, delivery and impact rather than only strategy or advisory services.

CSI funding can be tracked against the agreed project, budget and outputs, with reporting tailored to the partnership. Depending on the scope, this can include financial records, monthly or periodic statements, impact updates, photographs and approved social-media content, beneficiary or activity data, project milestones and audited organisational financial information.

Qualifying donations may be eligible for a Section 18A tax-deductible receipt where the donation and intended use meet South African tax requirements. Companies should confirm the treatment with their tax adviser and SAVE Foundation should confirm eligibility before a receipt is issued.

Section 18A of South Africa’s Income Tax Act allows approved public benefit organisations to issue tax-deductible receipts for qualifying donations. A valid Section 18A receipt can allow an eligible donor to claim the donation as a deduction, subject to SARS rules and applicable limits.

For a qualifying donation, SAVE Foundation can confirm whether a Section 18A receipt can be issued. Not every payment or benefit-linked contribution necessarily qualifies as a donation, so the structure of the contribution should be agreed before payment if a tax-deductible receipt is important to your company.

SAVE Foundation’s current programme footprint includes South Africa, Botswana and Namibia, with its strongest community-development base in Cape Town and conservation opportunities across Southern Africa. The most appropriate location depends on the company’s impact goals, employee involvement and project needs.

SAVE Foundation can provide evidence of the nonprofit activity, project spend and impact delivered through an agreed partnership. Whether a contribution earns specific B-BBEE recognition or satisfies a particular ESG reporting framework depends on the company’s scorecard, reporting standard and the structure of the contribution, so this should be confirmed with the company’s accredited adviser or verification professional.

Yes, where it is appropriate and safe. SAVE can combine funding with structured employee engagement such as community outreach, school or ECD support, sports and youth-development activities, facility improvement or other practical project days designed around current community needs.
