Medical Assistance Project - South Africa
Located in Cape Town and functioning as an outpatient clinic; it sees over 500 patients a day with health issues varying from hypertension, HIV&AIDS, TB and pediatric consultancy. The clinic also has a 24-hour Emergency Centre and Maternity Obstetric Unit (MOU) which is frequently bustling with patients.
Due to the poor living conditions, health in South Africa is deficient, and facilities and staff are in desperate need of assistance. Often, these clinics have a large catchment area that stretches from one side of the city to the other. Thankfully, the facility has several qualified doctors and nurse practitioners who are assisted by students.
